Whitewall Christmas is an hour-long radio program based on the Christmas albums produced by tiremakers Goodyear and Firestone. Promotional albums like these became a popular offering around the holidays during the 1960s. While companies such as Maxwell House, J.C. Penney and even Kentucky Fried Chicken provided albums, it all began with Goodyear and Firestone. On Whitewall Christmas you’ll hear a sampling of songs from these classic Goodyear and Firestone records, with a special emphasis on recordings made especially for these releases.
